I’m reminded of the recent song by Tree 63 “Sunday”….
Nothing’s sacred, the days are cheap
Truth is thin on the ground
Still our prophets are crucified
Nobody believes we’re stumbling
It’s Friday, but Sunday is coming
Someone’s saying a prayer tonight
For hungry mouths to be filled
Someone kneels in the dark somewhere
And darkness is already crumbling
It’s Friday, but Sunday comes
Sunday – Hallelujah – it’s not so far, it’s not so far away
Sunday – Hallelujah – it’s not so far, it’s not so far away
Broken promises, weary hearts
But one promise remains:
Crucified, he will come again
It’s Friday, but Sunday is coming
It’s Friday, but Sunday is coming
Are you down today? Discouraged? Need a lift? Don’t worry, Sunday is on the way!!! Remember that on Friday things were dark and all seemed lost and hopeless. After all, Jesus had been crucified and He was placed in a borrowed tomb. But Sunday was coming!!! He’s Alive!!!
Just put your trust, your strength, and your hope in Him. Sunday is on the Way!!!

Had a good weekend with FBC, Attwood. They decided to do their Spring Revival in more of a Bible Conference format. Had sessions Friday at 6pm, Saturday at 10am, and Sunday at 9am/10am/6pm/7pm.
The Speakers were Ralph Buckley, Pat Pajak, and Roger Ellsworth. Pat Pajak is former Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist in Decatur and now serving as Associate Executive Director for Illinois Baptists. Ralph Buckley is Pastor of Fowlkes Baptist Church in Fowlkes, TN. Roger Ellsworth who is now Pastoring in Salem, IL but most recently served 6 miles from us at Immanuel Baptist in Benton.
The best news from the Conference is that two people gave their lives to Christ yesterday morning!
We’ve got an easier 13 days or so hooray for us. Time to get to everything that needs to be done around the house. Our schedule really hits us hard after that though so the rest will be welcomed.

Brent

Have you seen “Expelled” yet? It is VERY well done. Some of the reviews of it have been really funny to read. They don’t seem to realize they’re validating the movie and doing exactly what the movie warns of by being so hypercritical and trying bash the movie so no one will go see it.
Many people are missing the point of the movie and it’s a critical point at this time in our nation. The point is not is “Intelligent Design” valid. Though as a sidebar it is valid and that’s the reason they fear it so much. The point is that Scientists, Teachers, etc., should have the right to search for the truth and follow where it leads without having to fear for their jobs, tenure at their schools, etc. because evolutionists don’t like it and are scared of where it might lead.
Why are people so scared of ”Intelligent Design”?? If it was so invalid, so ridiculous a thought, they wouldn’t fear it all and would simply dismiss it as laughable and move on They fear it because of what it would mean for them if they had to admit that it’s true.
Intelligent Design=Intelligent Designer=God=God of The Bible=The Bible is God’s Word=God’s Word is True=We Will Live Eternally In Heaven or Hell=Decision Time

NOTE: Cute family story ahead, some of you may want to avert your eyes ;-).
As I’ve said before Ola and I are expecting #2 in September. Getting our current 2 yr. old, Eliana, to understand what’s happening has been fun. We keep trying to explain that there’s a new baby in mommy’s tummy. At first she kept saying that her little dolls were in there, and we’d try to get her to understand that there’s a real baby there.
So the other night Ola was reading to Eliana and she realized that Eliana wasn’t paying any attention, she was thinking very hard about something. Then she pointed to Ola’s stomach and said “there’s a baby in there”. Ola said “yes”. She said “it’s Michah (one of her dolls)”. Ola was disappointed and said “no”. After a little bit more time passed Eliana “no, not Michah, a real baby”. Ola got excited. Eliana said “yes, a real baby, we’ll have to go to the doctor and they’ll take it out. And we’ll take care of it and feed it and put diapers on it and take it to the library”. Ola was very excited that she was finally understanding, we finally had a breakthrough!! Then after another minute or two of thought, Eliana said “maybe it’ll be a small horse in there!”. So much for the breakthrough.

Don’t know how many of you remember the ministry of Bobby Moore at Broadway Baptist in Memphis. The church he built is now in Southaven, and it’s where we spent the last few days. It was honor to get to meet him, as he has always been known as man of God and an annointed preacher.
Our “Over 55 Conference” with Dr. Bob Pitman went great. He is such a unique and gifted preacher. What an encouragement he was to so many in this meeting. It was great to work with him and hope to again soon as he is now in full-time evangelism. If you get the chance to hear him, it would be well worth your time to do so.
We’re heading home and will be in Ola’s old stomping grounds on Sunday in Marshall, IL and Robinson, IL.

Brent

You know how sometimes when you haven’t tried something for a long time and you don’t remember how much you liked it?? Maybe that’s not a great analogy but WOW I always forget what a great communicator that Bob Pitman is until I hear him preach again. We had about 250-275 yesterday in the beginning of our 55 and Over Conference at Broadway Baptist in Southaven, MS. He preached a fantastic message from 2 Corinthians 1 on God not putting more on us than “He” can stand, not that “we” can stand. I’m looking forward to today and tomorrow even more now.

Sons of The Father is in Mississippi until Thursday with one quick stop in Arkansas tonight. It’s all in the Memphis, TN area. We’re doing a concert at FBC, Batesville, MS this morning and FBC of West Memphis, AR tonight.
We’ll start an “Over 50″ Revival at 10am tomorrow with Dr. Bob Pitman preaching. Dr. Pitman pastored in Memphis at Kirby Woods Baptist for many years and is now in full-time evangelism. He’s a great preacher if you ever get the chance to hear him. The meeting is at Broadway Baptist in Southaven, MS. The pastor was in dad’s youth group when he was on staff at FBC, West Frankfort, IL many moons ago (the 70’s).
I’m looking forward to a great week. Going to be a lot of fun.

Today is celebration day for the entire Snyder clan. Clayton has trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He’s being baptized today at Grace, our home church. Sons of The Father will be leading in worship this morning and then Chris is going to get to baptize his son.
What a great time of joy and celebration when another soul comes to know The Lord. We always enjoy being able to worship in our own church. We don’t get the priviledge very often. One of the negatives of our travel schedule I guess.
Sons of The Father will be back at it tonight though in Carrier Mills, IL. Next week we’ll head south for some concerts and a Senior Adult Revival with Evangelist Bob Pitman, former pastor of Kirby Woods Baptist in Memphis, TN. If you’ve never heard him he’s a man of God, a great preacher and just and all-around great guy. We’re looking forward to spending some time with him.
I’ll try to keep you updated. Check back soon.
In His Grip,
Brent

Had good week in Richland, MO. James Messer did a great job preaching and there was a good spirit. The town of Richland was hit with tragedy while we were there however. On Tuesday there was a car accident that took the lives of an 80 year old man and a popular teenage girl there in the high school. The girl’s sister was also badly injured in the accident. Richland is a small town and was hit very hard by this tragedy. Please pray for Richland and for FBC that they’ll be able to minister during this time.
Got to meet some great people there in Richland. That’s one of the blessings of what we do is meeting brothers and sisters all over the Unites States.
Concerts this weekend in IL. Good to be home for a while.
CELEBRATION note: Clayton (Chris’s son) has accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He’ll be baptized at Grace on Sunday, April 6th!! Way to go Clayton!!!

Starting a revival Sunday with James Messer. James is the “Mel Tillis” of Evangelism. He’s tongue-tied and was born with a lot of excuses not to succeed. But he’s allowed God to use him for His glory and has a great testimony. People tend to listen to him closer because he’s tongue-tied but he’d be a GREAT preacher even if he could be understood perfectly.
Pray for the folks at FBC, Richland and Interim Pastor Jim Wilcox this weekend. We’re hoping they weren’t too affected with all of the rain and flooding. Our town was hit fairly hard, with some homes just two blocks down the street being lost. There is still a new “lake” down there as the water is just today supposed to “crest”. Pray for the folks who have lost their homes and had so much damage.
Thankfully, we’re on a hill and were able to stay ahead of the water collecting in the basement.
In His Grip,
Brent
