Sunday was a sad day for several people that we know. First is one that many of you may have heard about. Known to many as the “Queen of Southern Gospel”, famed singer and songwriter Dottie Rambo was killed in a bus accident while on her way to a singing engagement. I don’t know if the investigation has been concluded or not but I assume it was due to the storms in Missouri at the time that caused the bus crash but I guess we’ll see. She had written a lot of great songs such as “We Shall Behold Him”, “I Go To The Rock”, “I Will Glory In The Cross”, “For What Earthly Reason”, “He Looked Beyond My Fault”, and many more. It was a great loss to Gospel Music but the songs God gave her will live on and continue to touch lives.
Second, a friend of ours from COSBE, the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists, Margaret Allen lost her Son-In-Law and grandson in a plane crash in North Carolina. Her Son-In-Law was pastor of Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon (near Tampa), Florida. Pastor Forrest Pollock was flying with his 13 year od son in their plane on the way to pick up another pastor on the way to a conference in Arkansas when they crashed in the mountains near Ashville, NC. There weren’t found until Tuesday morning.
Please be in prayer for their family and for Bell Shoals Baptist Church during this difficult time. Especially for Margaret Allen’s daughter and her five children as they face the coming months.
